Abstract

This research was conducted on the Shoghab, Owli, Shirino, Nai-Band, T-wharf and the north of Khark. Sampling of sediments and tissues of Echinometra mathaei . After sampling and transferring to the laboratory, the amount of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons was measured by chromatography and GC-MS. The highest concentration of PAH compounds in sediments; in the T-Khark related to Naphthalene with the amount of 913.7 ng/g of dry weight and in the cold season and the highest concentration of tissue PAH compounds; in the T-Khark, Phenanthrene was measured at 371.5 in the hot season. In general, Naphthalene was the dominant compound in the sediments, but Phenanthrene was the dominant compound in the tissues. No significant was observed between the amount of PAH in the sediments and tissues (P>0.05). The accumulation trend of PAHs in sediments was increasing. In the tissues of urchins, this amount showed an increasing trend, and the comparison of this accumulation with other aquatic animals indicated a higher accumulation of PAHs in the tissues of benthic species, and this is important due to the habitat and type of nutrition of these organisms, and it shows The importance of this species and its investigations in the field of ecotoxicology.
